Track5’s Top Five: What We’re Thankful for in 2018

I know, I know. You’re probably rolling your eyes because this blog is another cheesy, “what I’m thankful for,” post the week of Thanksgiving. Sorry to disappoint you. Despite it being cheesy or cliché or whatever, we do have a lot to be thankful for as we reflect back on 2018. Some of it is serious and sappy. Others things we’re thankful for are lighthearted and fun. Then there are a few that are strictly business. We kept the list short and sweet, but here’s what Track5 is thankful for in 2018.

Top Five Things Track5Media is Thankful for in 2018

Here are the top five things we as a company are grateful for this holiday season!

Opening a new office in Florida

what track5 is thankful for in 2018

The biggest thing that Track5 is thankful for in 2018 is our expansion into Florida. We just so happened to find lots of qualified developers in the Sunshine State so we had to open a second location there. Located on the Gulf Coast in St. Petersburg, we now have a team of seven people. We are grateful to have a solid team there working on our brands. We get to chat with them via our Slack chat service, and they’ll come up here and suffer the bitter Pennsylvania winter for our company Christmas party.

Creating new positions

Not only did we hire several new people, but we also created a few new, much-needed positions within our company. For starters, this year we added an executive administer to our team. This person is responsible for everything from keeping our snacks full to recruiting and hiring talent to accounting to keeping our company culture consistent across both offices. Little did we know that we’d find someone as sweet and fun as Aarin. She quickly became the cool, if “dad says no, ask mom,” office parent.

We also added Megan and Kelly to our team. They are our “make everything look pretty” people. Some kind of designers… none of us really know exactly how they do what they do, but we know that its added immense value to the content on our brands.

And last but definitely not least we have several web QA analysts who are working in newly created positions. These guys are amazing because they make sure that all of our websites function at the highest quality possible for our clients. They catch all of the things that the rest of us might miss, and they’re really good at it!

Increasing our staff

As you might have guessed from the previous two things we’re thankful for in 2018, we’ve increased our staff! We couldn’t have done this without a dedicated and strong sales team. Business is booming in our industries, especially in the trucking industry. This has kept everyone within the company on their toes, especially account management. It’s a good feeling when you see a company growing at such a steady pace. Most of the desks in our open office space are full! We hired nine new people in 2018, not to mention a few long-lasting interns. So many new, fun people… another thing Track5 is thankful for in 2018.

Watching our Track5 “babies” grow

what track5 is thankful for in 2018

Jillian, director of client accounts, is mom to baby Bryce. He comes to visit us on special holidays, such as Halloween.

We’re like a family here at Track5, so when anyone’s family grows, we consider it an addition to our own. This year we’ve been blessed to watch our two newest Track5-ers grow. Last year our company president had a son, baby Joaquín and our director of client accounts, Jill, had baby Bryce this year. The babies are just about seven months apart in age. We’ve also gained a couple pups and kittens. Oh, and we have a few weddings to look forward to in 2019!

The delivery service at Pat’s Pizzeria

Ok people. Don’t judge us. We work hard, we’re busy, and we get hungry. So, to say that our team members here at the Lancaster office use the delivery service at Pat’s Pizzeria frequently is an understatement. We’ve got them on speed dial. Their delivery driver’s car steers itself to our office. Why do we bother asking what we should order for lunch? Chances are that if no one has the time to run out, we’re getting Pat’s. Cheesesteaks. Salads. Club sandwiches. They’ve got it all. An office full of people with the same appreciation for food is another thing that Track5 is thankful for in 2018.

What are you most thankful for this holiday season? Now that we’ve poured our corporate heart out, feel free to do the same.

Jillian Armstrong, Director of Client Accounts

I am thankful that I’ve been able to spend the last three years working for such an amazing company!  Not sure that I could go back to working somewhere that doesn’t have quarterly massages as an employee benefit!  I’m also extremely thankful for my amazing co-workers, family, and friends, and this year I’m also thankful that I’ll be meeting my little bundle of joy in six months! Oh…almost forgot to mention, I’m beyond thankful for fried turkey and that binge-eating comfort food is acceptable on Thanksgiving; especially when you’re eating for two!

Brett Koch, Digital Sales Representative

I am thankful for my family, including my wife, Hannah, and my two amazing children Bryson and Ella. They are growing up so fast and I am so lucky they are happy and healthy! I am thankful for having a job where I enjoy coming to work every day and enjoy the people I work with. It is so nice to feel welcome and be excited about growing with an amazing company.

Lenay Ruhl, Marketing Specialist

First of all, I am thankful to finally have a job that I love and to work for a company that invests in its employees. It’s a great feeling to have work-life balance, plus I get to walk to the office! Secondly, I am thankful for my nephew, who is one year old. I’m looking forward to spending the holidays with him and the rest of my family.

Troy Diffenderfer, Marketing Specialist

It would take forever to name all of the things that I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving, but I’ll name a few. Of course, I’m thankful for my friends and family who continuously support me in whatever I do. I’m also thankful to be working at a job that I truly enjoy coming to every day. Track5Media allows me to use my creativity to produce the best possible product while working with a group of people that are more than just coworkers. Finally, I’m thankful for books! I don’t know what I’d do without a good book!

Connor Smith, Marketing Specialist

This year (like every year) I’m thankful for 1) the Goldilocks Zone such that Earth can sustain liquid water and carbon-based life. 2) Alan Turing and his contributions to computing such that many modern technological advancements have since been possible. 3) The Rapid Eye Movement cycle such that sleep is possible for human beings in order to continue perpetuating our consciousness and all that follows. Oh, and also friends and family!

Tara DiMattio, Digital Sales Representative

I’m thankful this year, and every year, for many things-especially my amazing support system of friends and family that keep my life full and exciting and of course my four-legged best friend Peanut. I am also very grateful to work with such an awesome company filled with intelligent and amazing team members that support each other daily and make “loving what you do” an easy thing!

Will Lewis, Web App Developer

I’m very thankful to have a job here at Track5Media, I realize that’s very cliche to say but Track5 is a fantastic company and it’s a joy to work here. All of my coworkers are awesome people, and I love working with them. I’m thankful that I have a large, loving family. Having 10 siblings can be pretty hectic, but also a great blessing. My parents did a great job raising us, and I’m thankful for having loving parents. I’m thankful for my friends, having a close circle of friends that I can count on means the world to me. Also, I’m VERY thankful for the wonderful, delicious food that we are so blessed to be able to stuff our faces with. #GoTurkeyDay

Kayla Shaffer, Product Manager

I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with an awesomely talented and intelligent group of people that I can learn from  both professionally and personally) every day. I also think there’s a lot to be said about the support that everyone here provides for each other. Everyone has their own story, but whether it be related to a project or even things that impact our people outside of business hours, we really come together as a unified team and everyone genuinely cares and respects one another, which isn’t necessarily customary when it comes to a job.

Ben Joerg, Vice President/Partner

Being thankful for me has taken on a very special new meaning to me this year as many things have transpired in our society and my personal life.  Super grateful for all members that make up our super team @T5 as well all my friends and family including my four-legged best friend. Here’s to a great year ahead of being thankful for what we all have and not what we don’t have.

Donna DiMeo, Accounting Coordinator

I am thankful for my husband and the life we have created with our three children. I am thankful for my children; they give me hope for a great future. I am also thankful for the many family and friends that are in our lives. I am grateful for the amazing team at Track5Media. We spend a lot of time together, so it is a good thing we all like each other. The energy that surrounds me is something I do not take for granted.  I know when I am with the people in my life; the world is going to be okay!

Kelsey Herbst, Junior Account Manager

This year (and every other year of course) I’m thankful for my family and friends who are constantly supporting me with all my adventures, like rescuing a puppy who is absolutely nuts! They’ve all stepped in whenever I’ve needed help, which I’m so grateful for! I’m also so thankful to be working for such a great company, and that I’m surrounded by awesome co-workers every day – It makes being an adult so much easier!

Margaret Colebeck, Internet Marketing Manager

I’m thankful for my loving and supportive family, my energetic Dalmatian, and my crazy friends that keep me laughing and smiling throughout the whole year. I’m also thankful for my adventurous spirit which encouraged me to take a chance and move to PA for this incredible job at Track5Media. Our team at Track5 takes ‘loving what you do’ to a whole new meaning for me and I couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to work with such a supportive and talented group. Oh, and I’m thankful for FaceTime, which makes it easy to laugh with my 18-month old nephew as he runs around the house and coo over my 4-month old niece.

Troy Diffenderfer, Marketing Intern

I’m thankful for many things. Of course, I’m thankful for the supportive group of friends, family, and coworkers I have. I’m also thankful for growth. This past year I’ve grown more as a person, friend, and loved one more than I could have imagined. Walking into work every day gets me excited. I’m honored to be a member of such an awesome, hardworking team, and I can’t even imagine what the next year will hold. Happy Thanksgiving!

Connor Smith, Digital Marketing Specialist

I’m thankful that we can become aware of our society, our world, and beyond via the wonderful tool that is the Internet. And while it can show us the most vicious face of humanity, we are similarly exposed to millions of like-minded and positively influential people every day. This access of information holds us accountable to become better human beings and to act based on an increasing knowledge of the world and its issues.

I’m thankful that this holiday will arrive and pass many times over and for many people. This time of thanks is celebrating all of those moments when we had enough food, or a safe place to sleep, a network of friends, a stable job, or just the ability to get up and greet the day.

Tara DiMattio, Digital Sales Rep

I’m thankful for my amazing family and friends, my adorable pup (ok all pups everywhere) and the love and happiness they bring to my world. I am also thankful for new experiences and that I have a rewarding career that allows me to live a fun, awesome life and the ability to fill it with things that keep me smiling and growing every day. ..Oh and pizza! I mean.. because how can we not be thankful for pizza?!

Jenn Gongora, Marketing Intern

As cheesy and totally expected as it may seem, what I’m most grateful this year, outside of friends and family, is my time at Track5Media. I am just beside myself to be working with such a hardworking, talented group of people. The grounds for Business of the Year is well founded! My time here and what I’ve learned will not be taken for granted.

Naturally, like every other human being, I am also grateful for my family and friends. I am lucky to know some absolutely extraordinary people but to receive unconditional love and support from them and the opportunity to call them my dearest friends is more than I could ever hope for. They constantly challenge and inspire me, even when they are unaware of it. As for my family, I could go on for days. But I will say this: they are the reason I’m grounded and just so darn awesome. The sacrifices my parents made and the challenges they went through will forever be imprinted in my brain and will always be the number one thing I am grateful for.
